The Rise of the Rashidi Dynasty
Jabal Shammar was a significant emirate in northern Arabia that existed from the early 19th century until 1921. The region was dominated by the Rashidi dynasty, who established their capital in the city of Ha'il.
The Rashidi rulers were known for their wisdom, tolerance, and strategic alliances. At its height, the emirate controlled large parts of the Arabian Peninsula and was a major center for trade, culture, and Islamic scholarship.
The Rashidi emirs built impressive fortresses and palaces throughout Jabal Shammar, including the famous Barzan Palace in Ha'il which served as the administrative center of the emirate.
